Before the travels, I had to do my research to see how pricey the trip was going to be traveling with 2 cats. Both Jackie of 4 months and Bagheerah of 4 years are my little fury cats that I would travel with. First thing is first I had to take 2 flights to get to my final destination from San Jose to San Diego then to Guadalajara Mexico. Booking the flights weren’t so hard, but getting the pets added to the flight was not an option I can do online through Southwest so I had to call it in. I only registered one pet due to Southwest Policy charges only apply per pet carrier. Therefore I bought a pet carrier big enough for both of them. I also thought of traveling with the stroller I have for them, but knowing the second airline I am going to take which is Volaris (many call them “robaris” due to all the charges they add to your flight) I might have to reconsider. Volaris doesn’t have a call center so there is no way to talk to a live person about stroller policy, therefore, driving to the airport will be the only way to get an answer. Volaris’s way of communicating is through an automatic response message system through WhatsUp. Horrible, yes I know but there is a reason for all of this.
Getting the right paperwork before the travels:
Travels are quite tricky when it comes to traveling with animals or traveling at all. It is best to be prepared to the fullest when flying through any airline, let alone traveling internationally. What I mean is cross all the ts’ and dot the is’ by making sure pets are fully vaccinated with time AND obtain a heath certificate 5 days before initiating the journey. It is ugly to think that your animals can possibly stranded abroad due to paperwork.

Going back to traveling with cats, I also got the cats some chews and spray to lower their anxiety levels while they are on the airplane. Cats get freaked out by any type of noise, especially because they are much more sensitive to noise. I bought both of them on Chewy.com.
The flights give us enogh time to stretch our legs and get a break in between.
